These are by no means unusual asking prices.
There are a number of copies for sale on the various Amazon sites 
at the moment, for the following prices:

a) amazon.de:
2 copies: one for EUR 359.50 and one for EUR 389.84

b) amazon.co.uk:
1 copy: UKP 402.60

c) amazon.com:
1 copy: USD 450.00

d) amazon.fr:
1 copy: EUR 478,81

e) amazon.co.jp:
2 copies: one for 86650 Yen and one for 92898 Yen.

So the current auction on Ebay is actually quite a bargain 
compared to the other offers.
